Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick was at the Museum of Springfield History Wednesday as part of the museum's Black History Month celebrations. The Governor noted that much of the American public remains uncomfortable talking about race and politics, though it's been part of this country's history since the founding fathers struggled with the contradiction between freedom and slavery. Patrick says  that struggle continues today on issues of race, gender and sexual orientation. And that this generation's task is to prick America's conscience in order to bridge what he calls the gap between the reality and ideals of the American Dream.
