Poll Director Talks Senate Primary Poll, Impact of Boston Bombings
Congressman Ed Markey holds a 10-point lead over Congressman Stephen Lynch in the Democratic primary race for the open U-S senate seat in Massachusetts, according to a poll released Saturday by Western New England University. Businessman Gabriel Gomez holds a slimmer lead over attorney Michael Sullivan and State Representative Dan Winslow on the Republican side. New England Public Radio's Henry Epp spoke to Tim Vercellotti, director of WNEU's polling institute, who says each Democrat has strong leads over all three republicans. The poll was conducted through the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings. Vercellotti says he chose to continue calls just hours after the two explosions.
