The Springfield Symphony Orchestra Salutes John Montanari
Join Maestro Kevin Rhodes of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra and the orchestra’s principal musicians for a celebration honoring NEPR’s John Montanari’s 35 years as classical music host and music director.
A lively afternoon of music is planned, featuring composers ranging from Beethoven and Brahms to Poulenc and Piazzolla. And in a playful role reversal, Kevin will interview John about his career, the music he loves, and his future plans as he retires from NEPR at the end of 2013.
Doors open at 2:30 p.m., seating is open.
Parking for Buckley Recital Hall:
The closest parking lots to the Arms Music Center (where Buckley Recital Hall is located) are the Converse Parking Lot next to Converse Hall and the Alumni Parking Lot next to Cohan Dormitory (see map). Parking is unrestricted on Sundays on the Amherst College campus. There is also metered parking in downtown Amherst within walking distance. Buckley Recital Hall is located on the ground floor of the Arms Music Center. It is is wheelchair accessible, and handicapped parking is located in front of the building.
