Ahead of President's Speech, McGovern and Neal Wary of Attacking Syria
As President Obama gets ready to address the nation, White House officials are briefing members of Congress. That's even though a vote authorizing an attack against Syria may not take place. Russia's suggestion that Syria surrender its chemical weapons has added a new twist in ongoing and tense negotiations - abroad and in Washington, DC.
Massachusetts U.S. Rep. Jim McGovern is opposed to military intervention, and wants the president to also discuss non-military options. Congressman Richie Neal says his constituents expect him to make a "judicious decision."
McGovern and Neal spoke Tuesday afternoon with New England Public Radio's Susan Kaplan.
