Between Men: Mike’s Hair Cut

Mike’s Hair Cut from thomas prutisto on Vimeo.

As part of his MFA Thesis in Digital Media at UMASS Amherst, Tom Prutisto wants to open up a dialogue with men about what it means to be a man today.  “It seems that most men, in my conversations, learn about how to be a man by watching male family members, friends and others.  It is not something men talk about.  I want to bring that conversation into the open and create a dialogue about it.”  Using the barbershop as a stage for his conversations, he records (video and audio) conversations with men about what the definition of masculinity is, where it comes from and how it is changing.

He invites participants to join him in conversation most Saturday mornings at Amherst Barbers or by making an appointment. (tomp@prutisto.com)
