For nearly three decades, Pioneer Valley music lovers have met on the grounds of Greenfield Community College for what many consider to be Western Massachusetts’ signature event of the summer.
Starting off from humble beginnings in 1986, the Green River Festival has become a highlight of the Valley’s very best in music and arts. Boasting over 30 bands on three stages, hot air balloon launches, local food, beer, wine, and artisan crafts, Green River offers more than enough to bring people back every year.
AudioFiles visited the festival this summer to speak with some of those who were there, to hear what they had to say about this homegrown point of pride.
