Facilities and Equipment

Expansion in Springfield

New England Public Radio will nearly triple its existing office and studio space with the purchase and renovation of the first floor of the Fuller Block Building at 1525 Main Street in downtown Springfield—the geographic center of our broadcast area.

Building Endowment for 1525 Main Street

Proceeds from this endowment will help cover the cost of utilities and maintenance for the new facility in Springfield.

Completion of State-of the-Art Facilities at UMass Amherst

In the final phase of renovations at Hampshire House, the studio and production areas will be upgraded with the latest digital technology—providing the Five College community with a state-of-the-art facility and enhanced opportunities for interns.

Technology

Frequency Acquisition and New Technologies

The Technology Fund will enable New England Public Radio to complete the purchase of all-news WNNZ, our 24/7 all-news format, and to acquire additional frequencies that expand WFCR and all-news WNNZ’s reach. It will also help fund future technology and equipment upgrades for a range of broadcast needs.

Programming

Start-up Funds for New Locally Focused Programs

The Program Fund will finance the launch of exciting new programs: Youth Radio; AudioFiles—a community-based music and talk series; and more news/talk programs and content on WFCR, all-news WNNZ, and nepr.net.

Classical and Jazz Endowment Fund

This fund will help ensure our permanent commitment to classical and jazz programming, which is of critical importance to WFCR’s loyal and passionate music audience.
