Superstorm Sandy: Before, During And Beyond

New York City lost almost 10,000 trees from the winds of Superstorm Sandy and the Nor'easter that followed. That's far more than any other storm in the city in which tree damage was recorded.

On a street corner in Midland Beach, Staten Island, volunteers have set up a makeshift stand.

As thousands of volunteers help the victims of Superstorm Sandy in New York and New Jersey, military veterans are discovering a real need for a sense of mission.
