Some music fits neatly into well defined genres, but that’s not the case with this week’s artists who will take you on a jubilant junket fusing melodies and rhythms from around the globe. Hazmat Modine plays the kind of Blues one might have found in a barrelhouse in New Orleans had the city been built on the Black Sea and inhabited by gypsies who performed with Otis Redding. Brown Rice Family embroiders sounds from Japan, Jamaica, Haiti, South Africa, Nigeria and the U.S. into a spirted fusion of reggae, Latin and funk. In addition, our little boxes exhibition will be filled with interactive sound and light installations, moving landscapes, and a virtual reality sculpture park. Be sure to bring a sense of adventure and a good dose of curiosity. Gates open at 5PM, music starts at 6PM. FREE and open to all ages and walks of life.
