Event Description

“Transitional Spaces,” an exhibition of drawings and sculpture by artists Cori Champagne, Joan Harmon, and Lindsey Wolkowicz, will be presented in the Sue and Eugene Mercy Jr. Gallery from January 9 through February 9, 2018, at the Loomis Chaffee School, 4 Batchelder Road, Windsor, Conn., 06095. An opening reception will take place on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, from 6:46 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. the Richmond Art Center. The public is invited to attend, and admission is free of charge. According to the artists’ statement, “transitional space is defined as space between an interior and exterior, acting as both a boundary and a link between states of being or surrounds.” Through their artwork, the three artists represent “identities, bodies, and boundaries in a state of transition,” which incorporates objects from daily human life. Their intent, according to their statement, is to “create spaces that feel familiar and impossible, substantive and impermanent” to observers.
