Event Description

"'Urinetown The Musical' is a darkly comical musical set in a world where a water shortage has led to the banishment of public toilets, and all people must “pay to pee” at public amenities. The piece satirizes a classic musical theatre trope of the “down-and-out” hero who rises up to lead a revolution against a corrupt, authoritarian ruling organization, all while falling in love with a girl from the very system he hopes to overthrow. While the show is primarily comic, it is also a powerful social satire addressing the corruptibility of power, the dangers of financial entanglements in government, issues of wealth inequality, and the flaw of simplifying complex issues through binary thinking. Show Dates and Times: April 18-21 at 8pm April 21 at 2pm
