Event Description

One of the most celebrated indie rock acts of the last two decades, Grizzly Bear’s prog-rock-meets-chamber-pop sound took the music world by storm and helped to define a new wave of psychedelic-leaning sound. After a notable hiatus, the quartet is back touring for its first new album in five years, Painted Ruins. The band’s most synth-heavy and beat-driven album to date, Painted Ruins landed on most “best of” lists in 2017, including Rolling Stone, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and USA Today. Pitchfork notes Grizzly Bear’s “intricate compositions…are bound tighter than ever, evoking distant images and emotions that continually shift in and out of focus.” Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith opens the show.
