THE MATTHEW BUCKSBAUM FAMILY LYRIC OPERA BROADCASTS
The Matthew Bucksbaum Family Lyric Opera broadcasts return as George Preston and Roger Pines co-host rebroadcasts of the productions from the 2011-12 season, which found Lyric presenting The Tales of Hoffmann, Lucia di Lammermoor, Boris Godunov, Ariadne auf Naxos, The Magic Flute, Aida, Show Boat, and Rinaldo.
Chicago boasts an opera company that’s second to none, with a box office exceeding 100 percent of capacity each year for the last decade, thanks to subscribers who give their tickets back for resale when they cannot attend a performance.
