Gonzales’ Testimony leaves Democrats Unsatisfied

New England democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday had some tough questions for Alberto Gonzalez, President Bush’s nominee for attorney general. But Massachusetts’ Ted Kennedy and Vermont’s Patrick Leahy both came away frustrated when Gonzalez managed to sidestep direct answers on the torture and abuse of suspected terrorists.
