Reflecting on Prison Reform on Martin Luther King Day

Today is the day we observe Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday, and for the 20th straight year, the American Friends Service Committee is marking the occasion with a series of programs in Northampton. Cate Woolner, one of the organizers of the effort, says the focus this year is on prison reform and opposition to capital punishment. The keynote speaker is Tina Reynolds of New York City, who has some experience with the criminal justice system. A non-violent drug offender, Reynolds has been arrested 61 times.
