The value of the Euro has risen more than 50% relative to the dollar since it was introduced in 2001. The rise of the European currency and its’ impact on the US economy is the subject of a talk today by University of Massachusetts Economics Professor Jerry Epstein. He’ll be speaking this afternoon to the World Affairs Council of western Massachusetts. Epstein says there are 3 main reasons why the euro is doing so well.
Epstein will lead a brown bag lunchtime discussion on the euro today at noon in the community room of the Sovereign Bank building on Main St. in Springfield. Call the World Affairs Council of western Massachusetts for reservations, the number is 413-733-0110.
