Paying for Healthcare

One of the greatest challenges facing the working poor is how to pay for healthcare. Connecticut lawmakers are now debating whether to extend health coverage for adults just over the poverty line. Coverage for 13,000 adults on what’s called the state’s “Husky” plan is set to expire on April 1st. Governor Jodi Rell is proposing to discontinue the program, saying it is too expensive in these tight budget times. But democrats are vowing to reinstate Husky adult coverage for the next two years.
