Same Sex Marriage back on the Massachusetts Front Burner

In the most serious challenge yet to the state’s historic ruling legalizing gay marriage, today the Massachusetts legislature is expected to vote on a proposed constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage. If only 50 legislators vote for the amendment, it could be on the ballot during the 2008 elections. Supporters of the question got a boost this week from an unlikely ally — the Supreme Judicial Court, the same court that handed down the historic ruling. Braving stormy weather, WFCR’s Francesca Rheannon went out to the Mountain Farms Mall in Hadley to find out what some local residents think about the proposed ban.
