First Arab-American appointed to state-level homeland security position.

Today’s the first day of work for Juliette Kayyem, Massachusetts’ new Homeland Security Advisor appointed by governor Deval Patrick this month. A counterterrorism specialist and former lecturer at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, Kayyem is now the only Arab-American to hold a state-level homeland security position. Kayyem told WFCR’s Tina Antolini, her ethnicity is not only significant, it will be useful in her new position.
