A year ago today, pilot Chesley Sullenberger landed US Airways Flight 1549 safely on the Hudson River. Remarkably, all 155 passengers and crew survived the ordeal. George Morgado from Chicopee, Massachusetts was on the flight, along with his brother-in-law and some friends. They were on their way to a golf weekend in North Carolina. Morgado told WFCR’s Jill Kaufman the first sign of trouble was a loud bang, and then the overpowering smell of burnt birds. Morgado was sitting in seat 5-F.
