Valley Plating Complying with MA DEP

Massachusetts environmental regulators are handing a $3,000 fine to Valley Plating Incorporated, a Springfield company providing plating to the military and aerospace industries. In 2008, the company discharged approximately 5500 gallons of acidic industrial waste into the Springfield sewer system. The discharge was attributed to operator error and now, as WFCR’s Sarah Danson reports, the company is complying with the Mass. Department of Environmental Protection order to put in new regulations.
