Sexual Assault on Amherst College Campus Leads to New Policies

Last week, a former Amherst College student published an account of a sexual assault she says occurred while at the school. The story was picked up by the national press and, last Friday, students held a rally outside a board of trustees meeting expressing concerns about student safety on campus. The college’s first woman president, Biddy Martin says she had already hired an outside expert to help the school boost student confidence in sexual misconduct and sexual assault procedures.
