The Emergency Shelter at Avon High School, located at 510 West Avon Road, open since at 8pm on Sunday, October 28, 2012. Please bring personal items – blankets, pillows, toiletries, snacks, medications – if you plan to stay overnight. Newington residents are welcome at shelter.

Bloomfield, CT
Overnight shelter may be activated if there is a need. Call Bloomfield Police Department at 860-242-5501 to see if shelter is open.

Carmen Arace Middle School, 390 Park Avenue

*Open to Bloomfield residents only
*Bring a picture ID
*Limited amount of space is available for small pets. Pets must be kept in a carrier and residents are responsible for the care, feeding, and walking of their pet.
*All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times
*Residents are responsible for their personal belongings, medical and dietary needs
*Shelter will provide residents with bathroom and shower facilities and sleeping cots
*Scheduled meal times will be available when long term sheltering is necessary

Overnight shelter.

Senior Community Center, 20 Center Street open since 2pm Monday. The emergency shelter will be available for those who require shelter, warming and charging stations. For more information call the Selectman’s office at 860-653-2576.
