As President Obama gets ready to address the nation, White House officials are briefing members of Congress. That’s even though a vote authorizing an attack against Syria may not take place. Russia’s suggestion that Syria surrender its chemical weapons has added a new twist in ongoing and tense negotiations – abroad and in Washington, DC.
Massachusetts U.S. Rep. Jim McGovern is opposed to military intervention, and wants the president to also discuss non-military options. Congressman Richie Neal says his constituents expect him to make a “judicious decision.”
