Part of the government is still shut down. If Congress doesn’t raise the debt ceiling in a little more than a week, the government may run of money, causing it not to meet its obligations for the first time in history.
And all sides — the House, the Senate and the White House — are still at odds with no resolution in sight.
It’s with that backdrop that President Obama is expected to conduct a news conference at 2 p.m. ET. in the White House.
NPR will provide live coverage and we’ve also embedded a live stream of the press conference provided by the White House at the top of this post. We’ll be live blogging the conference, so make sure you refresh your page.
