Looking at Past Errors, Boston Aims to Avoid World Series Violence

For the third time in nine years, the Boston Red Sox are in the World Series.

For Wednesday night’s game one, roughly 500 officers are expected in and around the Fenway area. That’s part of the city’s security plan, which also includes restrictions on vehicles and bars.

The measures are aimed at preventing the violence seen at previous championship celebrations.
