Annie Cheatham Resigns from CISA

Annie Cheatham has been at the helm of the local food movement in western New England for decades. At the end of the month, she will step down as executive director of the organization she helped to start, "Community Involved in Sustaining Agriculture" or CISA. It's a mouthful of a name, but it's all about what you put in your mouth. CISA's goal is to help farmers strengthen their links with consumers and vendors. Cheatham says she's been aware of the economical and personal benefits of buying and eating local since she was a congressional aide in the 1970s. She told WFCR's Tina Antolini, her decision to champion the work of farmers was born out of that time, which was troublesome for farmers nationwide.
