Last fall, the U.S. Supreme Court heard opening arguments in the controversial Fisher v. University of Texas affirmative action case, in which Abigail Fisher, who is a white 2008 Texas public high school graduate charged that she was a victim of racial discrimination. She narrowly missed out on admission at the U-T under the state's Top 10% Law. It guarantees admission to any Texas high school student ranked in the top 10% of her or his class.  As a former university affirmative action officer, and a researcher on the topic of morality, commentator Elizabeth Vozzola has been following the case with great interest.
