Commentator Michael Carolan has An Irish Hunger
Recent data from Ireland's Central Statistics Office show that more than 3000 Irish are leaving their country every month. That's the highest number since the 19th century when the Great Famine sent those who could go, off to America. That famine, says commentator Michael Carolan (proudly of Irish descent) is clearly part of his cultural DNA. Carolan is a writer and teaches literature at Clark University.
