Now that the U.S. Supreme Court has upheld the affordable care act, Massachusetts can get back to its work on health reform. The state's landmark 2006 healthcare law greatly expanded health coverage to Massachusetts residents, both through an insurance mandate and expanded state subsidies. Now, the focus is on healthcare costs, as the Massachusetts house and senate iron out a cost-control bill. Some policy experts say they're skeptical the final legislation will have enough teeth in it to significantly slow down the cost of healthcare, but state Secretary of Health and Human Services Judy Ann Bigby told New England Public Radio's Karen Brown that she's optimistic.
