Natalie MacMaster at UMass Amherst

Cape Breton fiddler Natalie MacMaster is known as an ambassador for the music and dance of her native Nova Scotia, where fiddling and step dancing are inseparable. The Canadian government has acknowledged MacMaster's contribution to its cultural heritage by making her one of the youngest recipients of its highest civilian honor, The Order of Canada. MacMaster is currently on a tour in the U.S. As part of that tour she performed at the UMass Amherst Fine Arts Center on February 28th.
