New Office at UMass Offers Parent Services

There was a time when going to college meant getting away from your parents. But these days, the parents aren't as willing to let go and colleges are acknowledging that change. Last fall, the University of Massachusetts Amherst became the first public school in the state to open an office for parent services. It offers parent orientation programs, websites, and even parent councils that dispense advice to administrators. WFCR's Bob Paquette recently spoke with Jeanne Horrigan, Director of the New Students Program at UMass.
