Professionalizing After-School Care

The number of after-school programs in this country is growing, thanks in part to federal financial support. Still, a recent study says there are more than 14 million children on their own each afternoon, after school. Boston-based Lesley University, already in the business of producing teachers, is leading an effort to boost the qualifications of those who take care of young people when they're not in school. WFCR's Susan Kaplan reports.
