Sprinfield Youth Track Team Competes in Winter

For the first time in years, Springfield youth are running track in the winter. The school department cut indoor track as part of its budget tightening, but one city leader - who happens to be a track star in his own right - has put together an urban track and field team to compete against the area's wealthier suburban districts.
