Springfield Steps Up for Education

The city of Springfield is struggling on several fronts, and one of the most concerning is its public school system. A community-wide campaign called www.stepupspringfield.org target= _blank >Step Up Springfield is trying to create a new culture around learning. But with the state cutting back on education funding, and the poverty rate near 80% among Springfield students, the effort has not been easy. WFCR's Karen Brown reports.

Step Up Springfield is offering a free parent training in Spanish on Thursday, Jan. 27th, and training in English on Saturday, Jan. 29th.
