Blood Pressure and Beauty Salons

Blood pressure monitors are being mixed in with scissors and hair dryers in Springfield, Massachusetts. Shirley Jackson Whitaker, a local doctor is trying to raise blood pressure awareness in African American communities. Whitaker says statistically African Americans are more likely to have the problems associated with high blood pressure, like strokes and heart attacks. She says salons and barber shops are ideal places to get the word out.
