In a visit to Pittsfield Thursday, Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito seemed to be caught off guard when asked about when the so-called “Last Mile” project will be completed for 40 communities in the western part of the state.
In late December, Baker attended a holiday party thrown by the website MassLive. But he hasn’t had a public event in the four western counties of Massachusetts since November 1.

Baker has made a dozen appearances over eight trips to western Mass. since last August.
Town officials say the money will help them find ways to share services with a focus on schools, including professional development and common data systems.
