This is a big week for transgender advocates in Massachusetts. On Thursday, the state Senate is planning to vote on a bill that would extend public accomodation rights to transgender individuals.
The Fourth of July celebration in Orange, Massachusetts took a particular turn today, as residents marked the day, 150 years ago, when its citizens marched off to join the Civil War.
Almost 70 years ago, residents of the towns that now lie under the Quabbin Reservoir in Massachusetts packed up and left their homes. This past weekend, in South Hadley, some of them gathered to tell stories about the flooding of their villages in order to create a source of water for the eastern part of the state. WFCR’s Francesca Rheannon spoke with Robert Wilder, a resident of the lost town of Enfield.
