Robotics Professor trains “Personal Assistants”

Professer Rod Grupen spends his days surrounded by computers that move, grab, roll, and — in their own way — learn. He runs the laboratory for perceptual robotics at Umass-Amherst, and while his robots are still in a primitive stage, he’s hoping the next generation will make life better for their flesh-and-blood counterparts. WFCR’s Karen Brown reports.
