Many politicians consider the sales tax holiday a gift to retailers and consumers — even though states can lose millions of dollars in revenue.
Massachusetts legislators this week are scheduled to decide whether to give residents a sales tax-free weekend in August.
It looks like there will be another sales tax holiday in Massachusetts. Legislation that would suspend the state’s five percent sales tax for two days in August was given a favorable report by the Legislature’s Committee on Revenue on Wednesday. WFCR’s Kevin Mcnicholas reports.
