UMass Helping to Train Afghan Doctors

UMass has been helping train teachers in Afghanistan for almost 10 years. Now, the school’s Center for International Education and the Institute for Global Health are working on training for doctors and other medical professionals. UMass was asked to get involved by USAID, which is providing more than $1 million for the effort. The professional development manager of Kabul’s Medical University, Dr. Mirwais Amiri, just spent 10 days with campus officials. He spoke with WFCR’s Bob Paquette.
