UMass President Robert Caret is on a 500-mile bus tour across the Bay state. It includes visits to alumni start-ups, UMass-affiliated research centers and business incubators. He told New England Public Radio's Kari Njiiri that public higher education is becoming less affordable in the state, as tuition and fees increase to make up for a drop-off in state and federal money, forcing students to incur more debt.
