Amazon is looking for a location for a second national headquarters, which could could mean 50,000 high-paying jobs. Bids from interested cities are due Thursday.
One bid will come from Enfield, Connecticut, right across the Massachusetts line.
But to meet Amazon's wish list, the Enfield pitch will go far beyond the town's borders, and highlight the so-called Knowledge Corridor, which stretches from New Haven along I-91 through Springfield and up to Greenfield.
Rick Sullivan is president of the Western Massachusetts Economic Development Council.
"I think Western Massachusetts, as part of the Knowledge Corridor, is well positioned to have a great quality of life," he said. "We really focused on an outdoor, recreational, environmentally correct way of living, all of which is part of Amazon's requirements."
The Enfield pitch hit a bit of a bump in the road earlier this month when Connecticut announced it would get behind the bids of two other cities: Stamford and Hartford.
