Start spreading the news… New England Public Radio will celebrate the 100th birthday anniversary of two American icons, Frank Sinatra and Billie Holiday with a festive holiday bash on December 12, 2015, from 7-11 p.m. at the Hadley Farms Meeting House in Hadley, Mass. The 18-piece Jeff Holmes Big Band will set the mood with singers Dawning Holmes and Rob Zapulla singing Holiday and Sinatra tunes. Guests will be treated to a fabulous evening, featuring signature cocktails, delicious eats, and decadent desserts in support of the programs and services of New England Public Radio.
“It’s the season to celebrate, and how grand it’ll be to do so in honor of the two most iconic singers of the past 100 years,” says NEPR’s Jazz a la Mode host and co-chair of the event’s Centennial Club Committee, Tom Reney. “Rob Zapulla has made a career of “singing Sinatra.” Dawning Holmes has the voice and stage presence required to bring new life to the songs of Billie Holiday. And the Jeff Holmes Big Band offers just the right combination of experience and sophistication to balance the styles of Ol’ Blue Eyes and Lady Day and keep us on the dance floor all night.”
With the help of Yankee Candle and Flowers Flowers of Springfield, the Hadley Farms Meeting House will be transformed into a shimmering 1940’s -style nightclub decked out for the holidays. Guests are encouraged to come in vintage or festive attire. CT Photos Unlimited will be there to capture it all with an open air photo booth.
Tickets ($125) include a signature cocktail and can be purchased at NEPR.net. A limited number of discounted tickets ($50) are available for guests 35 and under.
The Hadley Farms Meeting House is located at 41 Russell Street, Rt 9, in the Hampton Village Barn Shops.
The Centennial Club Committee includes Tom and Meg Reney, saxophonist Charles Neville and his wife Kristin Neville of Blues to Green, and Stephen and Marjorie Sussman of Avon, Connecticut.
