She was recently invited to speak at Smith College’s Presidential Colloquium, which “regularly features influential thought leaders in a wide range of fields to share their expertise, offer insights, and inspire discourse on key social, political and global topics.”

Readings of Collected Works by Gerald Stern

As a guest of Smith College’s Poetry Center, prized American poet Gerald Stern read from a collection of works that included poems from: “American Sonnets”, “Last Blue: Poems”, and “Galaxy Love”, which will be released in early 2017.

Ross Douthat, New York Times columnist and author, spoke about modern American conservatism, the liberal crisis, what conservatives should learn from the rise of President-elect Donald Trump, and the desire worldwide to preserve cultural identity.

Douthat is the author of “Bad Religion: How We Became a Nation of Heretics” and “Privilege: Harvard and the Education of the Ruling Class” and the co-author, with Reihan Salam, of “Grand New Party: How Republicans Can Win the Working Class and Save the American Dream“.
