Fred Bever is a 20-year veteran of news reporting throughout northern and western New England. He started out as a print journalist in Williamstown, Mass., then worked north through Vermont, from Bennington to Montpelier, where he capped his print career covering the Legislature for the Vermont Press Bureau.
In 2001 he became the Statehouse Bureau Chief for Maine Public Radio, working out of Augusta and Portland. He later became the Chief Political Correspondent for the Maine Public Broadcasting Corporation, orchestrating political coverage for Maine Public Radio and for Maine's public television stations.
